The British defence secretary, Ben Wallace, has said that Russia’s president, Vladimir Putin, and his inner political circle are ‘mirroring fascism and tyranny’ equal to Nazi Germany with their invasion of Ukraine, as Russia marks the Soviet Union’s victory in the second world war with a grand military parade in Moscow. During a speech at the National Army Museum in London, Wallace said that Putin was ‘repeating the errors of the last century’s totalitarian regimes’
